As Sklenar states on his website, he only recently became interested in painting. His background is actually in electrical and software engineering. Two disciplines that tend to be very rigid and exacting so it was much to his surprise that he found that picking up a paintbrush activated a whole different part of his braind and seemed to open a whole new world of possibilities.

His work vacillates between realism and abstraction with each brush stroke simultaneously studied and a swath of vibrant color. For Sklenar color is the key! It is what makes his paintings the flights of fantasy that they are.
